Hey everyone,

I'm an incoming 1L at UOttawa and I'm looking to purchase used copies of the following textbooks from anyone located in either Vancouver, Ottawa, or Toronto:

Crim - Criminal Law and Procedure: Cases and Materials, 12th Edition, Authors: Kent Roach, Benjamin L. Berger, Emma Cunliffe, Asad G. Kiyani

Torts - Cases and Materials on the Law of Torts, 10th Edition, Authors: Mitchell McInnes, Erika Chamberlain, Stephen Pitel, Robert Solomon

Property - Required: Bruce Ziff et al, A Property Reader: Cases, Questions and Commentary, Fifth Edition (2022)

Public - Carissima Mathen and Patrick Macklem, eds, Canadian Constitutional Law (6th edition) (Emond); The Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation (9th ed) (Thomson Reuters); Forces et al, eds, Public Law: Cases, Commentary, and Analysis (4th edition) (Emond)

Let me know if you have anything!

Hi there!

I was just thinking about textbooks as well, and also thinking about ebook versus physical copy. I was thinking I would prefer the physical versions, and it seems as though you are as well.

Do you think physical is best?

If you want, join the facebook group "University of Ottawa Law Class of 2025" and post there. There will be a lot of people in that group who used these books last year.

Do they tend to update the textbooks or will many of last year’s books still be relevant for this upcoming year?

Most of them will probably be the same unless a new edition of the book came out in 2023. Just check if the edition of the used book is the same as what's listed for the course this year.
