In-house vs Firm

Looking for some advice.

im torn between an in house articling position and a firm position. Of course I haven’t been offered either yet but I want to figure out which I’d choose before potential offers tonight.

my main concern is that the in house position doesn’t do docketing at all. The in firm does docketing but there are no target billables for articling students. Is docketing a major skill that’s important to have if I ever want to move to a firm later on?

I don't consider docketing a skill that you couldn't pick up if you transitioned to a firm from in-house. It's an adjustment but you'd get the hang of it after a week. I wouldn't factor that into your decision.
