Dal vs Ucalgary

Hello Friends,

Have been accepted to both schools and I am conflicted! I am a Vancity resident hoping to practice law in BC. Ideally, UVIC is my first choice but I haven't heard back yet.

I realize Dal is much more expensive (COL and tuition wise than Calgary) However, would attending dal put me at any advantage over UofC for securing a position in BC?

I am also interested in enviro/health/patent given my personal background.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated and Happy Holidays ☃️

I don't think it'd give you any significant advantage. Dal does an excellent job placing nation wide but I wouldn't say it is better than UofC for working in BC.

As for the practice areas, I don't see it making much of a difference. People put too much stock into things like that.

You're in a good spot, make a choice based on your preference because your outcomes won't be tremendously altered either way.

Thanks for the reply and insights @LMP . I will continue to hold out for UVIC, but until then I think Calgary is the right play financially and proximity to home.
