Hello,

I still haven't heard back so I'm nervous, I graduated about 3 years ago from UBC and have extensive work experience in management positions with poor GPA. What are my chances? I feel like my written statements explained the disparity well and demonstrated my experience.

Thank you!

A 2.7 roughly translates to 69% per UBC's Allard GPA conversion tool, which doesn't seem competitive for UBC - however, your GPA after the 12 lowest credits are dropped could be higher. Out of those schools listed, TRU might be the most likely - from browsing last year's acceptance thread, there seems to be a TRU assigned B+/165 admitted in April, as well as a mature applicant with a TRU assigned B as the lowest I saw from skimming the thread.

I can totally relate to the nervousness though, as someone who also has a low GPA (graduated from UBC over 5 years ago), with UBC being my top choice and not hearing back makes one feel anxious for sure. To be honest, I feel that every applicant, myself included, feels their personal statements are top notch (and rightfully so - who would submit a half-effort statement for such an important application?), so it's hard to really judge whether written statements or softs/experience between yourself and other applicants. I have to consciously tell myself to stop checking the portal multiple times a day 🙄

I hope we both manage to make it in!

For anyone to really assess your chances, you need to provide the following information:

(1) Did you apply access, (2) what is your L2/B2, and (3) what is your UBC GPA with drops?
