New LSAC Writing Format Coming in August

It appears that LSAC is updating the LSAT writing approach starting July 31st, looks like this new format is going to include more reading as well as additional perspectives. Perhaps most importantly the section is going to be "50 minutes – 15 minutes for prewriting analysis and 35 minutes for essay" as opposed to the former 35 minutes.

Also it appears that LSAC will be analyzing this updated writing portion throughout the 2024-2025 testing cycle, with the "long-term goal of providing a scored LSAT Writing assessment that schools may use in their holistic admission process".
