Hello!

I am currently an undergrad at UOttawa in Criminology. I'm planning on only applying to McGill this next fall (it is the only law school I want to go to). I don't plan on taking the LSAT, as the website suggests that anyone above a 3.8 GPA shouldn't (I don't want to ruin my chances with a bad LSAT score...).

My CGPA at UOttawa is 9.5 (which translates approx to 3.95 /4). I was raised bilingual, have an internship planned this summer for a program in an Ontario court and have a relatively extensive CV: Working every semester, past volunteering, past school clubs, scholarships and Dean's list.

So, what are my chances of getting in? Should I take the LSAT after all? ty in advance :))

I wouldn't recommend taking the LSAT unless you are averaging above 165+ after some practice. I lean towards you being accepted but McGill admissions are weird.

Make sure to write an excellent statement, and I wouldn't emphasize that you only want to go to McGill. Adcoms want students interested in law, not just the school.

I'd say you've got about as good a chance as anyone.

Don't write the LSAT. There is no upside to writing it if you're only applying to McGill and you have a 3.95. Better to spend your time and energy elsewhere and not risk hurting the strength of your application.
