Why isn't there an option to delete our accounts?

Was hoping for way more scandalous posts in your post history. Disappointing.

Anyways, the old forum rule was that once you’re here, you’re here forever. If you want to delete your account, why not just stop using it?

The old forum had a great post explaining why posts/accounts aren't deleted - it doesn't appear to have been ported over. In short, I believe its gist was, a., deleting accounts is a lot of work for the mods, and b., having to stand by what you've written can provide a lesson in professionalism.

Here's an explanation for why we have the rule:

If you want to have your account disabled, we can do that. But since we only allow one account per person, you wouldn't be able to make a new one. If you want to change your username, you get one username change, which you can access through your account settings.

I somehow missed this post---went looking for it and everything. Thanks.
