Wondering if anyone has experience going through the process of obtaining a full permit to practice in QC from the Barreau coming from a common law province? How did you find the aptitude exams having only obtained a common law J.D./L.L.B.? Any recommended resources other than the materials the Barreau notes on their website (e.g. CCQ, Code of Civil Procedure, etc.)? For context, common law lawyer here but my practice touches on Quebec law often and have worked with Quebec colleagues frequently in my practice area. PMs are open since there probably aren't many who have gone through the common law to QC admission process and it may identify you to respond in detail.

Is there a requirement to speak french? I tried looking around and could never figure it out.
