Is it wise to live in the North End? For context, the apartment is 25 mins by foot to/from Dal and 15 mins via transit (including walks). It's also a 20-min walk to spring garden and downtown. The building is new with a modern interior and appliances (in-suite laundry as well). It is 1-bedroom with water included for $1625.

Also, should I wait a little bit longer to sign a lease in the hopes of something better would be available for July? Or does the housing situation gets worse from hereon?

Thank you!

I live in the North End in this general area and it isn't that bad of a walk to school each day. The nice thing about halifax is we have a really good public transit system in my opinion, so if you need to get somewhere in the rain its not that bad. Depending on location, the walk to a supermarket could suck and you may be far from downtown if you are into the bar scene.

As for finding a better lease. Maybe. But, it could harder to find a nice place that ticks all the boxes.

PM if you have any questions!
