Will rejecting an offer negatively influence subsequent applications

Hello all,

I plan on applying this cycle to UBC however, I have some personal reasons as to why I might have to reject the offer if I were to be given one. I wanted to know if declining the offer might make a negative impact on my application if I apply the following year. I know UBC does not like to give deferrals so thats why I am asking.

Thank you,

Get the offer first, then request a deferral. If denied, then reject the offer.

If they don't grant it, then they will minimize the chances of it impacting a future acceptance.

Don't assume that deferrals are hard to get. Things happen in people's lives, and sometimes deferrals are necessary.

A number of my 1L classmates had deferred from the previous year. One person deferred 3 times. I think it depends on how much they want you…
