Hi, 

 

I am curious what the dean's list GPA is for U of A. I understand it is not a crucial achievement nor does it define anyone's intelligence or value as a person, however I had a significant grade improvement after 1L and I am just curious If i have any chance of qualifying. Thanks

At UofA
Dean's list is divided by 1/2/3L year. You need to meet both criteria:
- Minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Top 10% of your year.

In 1L reaching a 3.5 is often sufficient to get onto the deans list, but in 2/3L the bottom of the top 10% is usually higher than 3.5.

You don't need to add disclaimers like this to avoid hurting peoples' feelings. 🙂
