Binding Bar Exam Materials?
I bound each individual section separately. I had friends who printed everything and stuck them in two big binders (one for solicitor, one for barrister) with dividers for each section. I don't think there's any specific method that works better than another. Re: the indices - I bound them separately as their own thing anyway. I agree that you should just print your materials now and either bind them or put them in an actual binder. No reason to wait. -

I had virtually identical stats and got in second wave this year. I’d say you have good chances. -

Also rejected, not surprised given my stats. Not too bummed out as I've been accepted into other schools. -

Currently down after a rejection. Please chance me for TRU, Bora Laskin, uOttawa. Already waitlisted at UNB. Rejected at UBC, UVIC, and Windsor Single
Letter grade from TRU: A- LSAT: 156, 157 OLSAS CGPA: 3.27 CGPA at my University: 3.40/4.33 L2: 3.52 B2: 3.61 Applied access/discretionary where I could as I have been supporting both my parents since end of high school/first year of university in 2019 who were disabled in car accidents (some financially but mainly care taking as I have a significantly younger sibling as well). Have a few years volunteering then working with a firm that deals with personal injury. I also worked part time throughout my undergrad. Excellent LOR from professor and retired attorney general. This is my first cycle applying and I just graduated from my undergrad in December. Had a rough first and second year taking care of my parents but kicked it into a higher gear towards the end of my second year and finished semesters with some type of Presidents/Deans Roll. -

Accepted today! I applied discretionary so I'll assume that's the category I was accepted under. 163 LSAT, 81% UBC GPA after drops. -

Chances/Advice for where to apply with somewhat unique softs (GPA 3.86/4.33, LSAT T.B.D)
Softs are a roll of the dice and are nearly always trumped by GPA/LSAT. What I'm saying is, regardless of what your softs are, nobody can give you a real answer about your chances without an actual LSAT score. It's not useful/practical to estimate chances based on "anticipated" LSAT scores either.- 2

Discretionary 2024
My application was moved from Discretionary to General. Status date still the same from November when i applied. I called in and was told I was on the “General Waitlist” but i’m unsure if they confused “waitlist” with “applicant pool”. Might call back but don’t want to come across as a nuisance. -

Binding Bar Exam Materials?
I bound my bar and solicitor materials separately. These were then split into two bound books each because there's a limit on how many pages you can bind together! I believe some people also print their materials and then use a binder instead of binding. If it helps, I think it is up to you as to how you'd like to organize your materials once they're printed - the print shop I used said most people either bind (for example, the bar materials) all together, whereas some will separately print and bind the individual sections. I would recommend you print and bind them as soon as possible so you can begin reading them, since I believe the indices come out early-mid May. -

I'm not sure how to go about printing my bar materials. Do most people spiral bind each section? Put the LSO materials in separate binders or one big binder? I was thinking about spiral binding each section separately, but should I wait to do that until the indices are out? -

I should add that my application portal still lists me as discretionary, and the brief discussion I had over the phone with the admissions office seems to imply that I was indeed admitted discretionary, rather than general. -

TMU vs. Western
Western had a good clinic if you want to get hands on experience with LTB, civil and criminal cases. A lot of the clients are low income and would fit your social justice bend. More importantly, where do you want to work and what is the cost difference for you? If you want to do social justice work, keeping debt down should be your number one priority. Otherwise, you are going to be tempted by the dark side of the law and fall into the social justice to Big Law pipeline - in which case Western is the clear winner.
